About me

I am a relaxed mum of 5 who feels passionate about new life and mothering. I love assisting women and families around birth, bringing practical advice, encouragement, and promoting confidence.

Having had personal experience of both hospital and home births, I feel I am able to support mothers in whichever environment they choose.

I endeavor to doula in a releasing and empowering way that facilitates bonding between mother and baby. Whilst this often involves practical help I also offer emotional support, and am a good listener.

As a recognised doula I have attended both hospital and home births. I am a member of Doula UK and abide by their philosophy and code of practice. I am also a member of Nurturing Birth. I have completed the Nurturing Birth advanced breast feeding course. I current certificate with St. Johns Ambalance for Early Years First Aid. I also have a certificate in Nurturing Birth's 'KEE to birth' which is a birth preperation course. This covers Knowledge, Emotions and Expectations.

Having delivered four healthy babies (3 girls and 1 boy) my fifth baby died when I was 20 weeks pregnant. This experience of miscarriage deeply affected me and has given me an empathy for others who find themselves losing their baby. I am a volunteer for Miscarriage Association and have completed the Child Bereavement Charity 'Supporting parents through pregnancy loss and death of a baby'. I am available as a Doula for those having to go through the distress of miscarriage or stillbirth.
